A Sense of Place
We believe buildings tell stories — not just about a place, but also about a moment in time. Villa Vani, built in the 1970s, retains many of its original features, embracing its retro-modern roots. From the built-in teak cabinets in the library to the dazzling terrazzo tiles on the first floor, every detail reflects the character of the seventies era. At the same time, the villa is unmistakably South Indian, with its rich teak wood windows and rattan furniture, lush tropical gardens, and many antique artworks sourced from local markets.
Made in Mysore
Mysore has long been a centre of craftsmanship, known for its exquisite woodwork, inlay work, silk weaving, and sandalwood carving. Once the capital of the Wodeyar dynasty, the city has a rich artistic heritage shaped by royal patronage, temple traditions, and generations of skilled artisans. At Villa Vani, each piece of furniture was made locally, blending tradition with contemporary design. Lovingly crafted and infused with the spirit of Mysore, they bring a unique feeling of "home" to the villa.
